Welcome to KB and KA
Transition from School to Remote Learning

Dear Families,

Let us begin our new way of learning for the next few weeks.  We completely understand that this can be an overwhelming time for parents so we want to reassure you that we are here to help and guide you along the way.  Our end goal is to make this a smooth transition for both you and your child.

The next three weeks our days will run a little differently.  A daily question of the day will be posted each morning to help you and your child start the day and get thinking.  We will continue to update this webpage daily with recipes, ideas, fun activities and things to do.

The weekly envelopes  for the following three weeks are full of our Letter of the Week, Religion, Phonics, Math, Sight word pages and a Science Activity.  These can  be done throughout  the week as time allows for you and your child.  Once the activities are completed just place them back in the pre-stamped envelope and mail them right back to Mrs. De Tone and Mrs. Plante.  It is that easy!!  Feel free to also include a few notes or picture for us...we love to see all that great art work!

We also included  Journals for the children to complete each day.  The journal can be a great place to work on writing a sentences using their sight words, drawing  their favorite part of a story or even drawing something they did that day.  These will be so much fun to share once we are back to gather as the Dr. Seuss and Snoopy Gangs!

Each child also received a set of two different colored cubes, these can be used to create patterns.  Pattern ideas will be posted weekly to practice.

We will  continue to learn about Australia in preparation for our Curriculum fair.  The children can use the playdough they were given to make their favorite Australia Animal.  These can be returned when we are back together.    We will have New Australia facts posted weekly so be sure to check them out!  We will be diving into the Great Barrier Reef!

In math we will be working on numbers to 100. Practice writing numbers in order and counting by 2's 5's, 10's and 20's.

We are ready to roll into the next few weeks.

Things to Work on with Remote Learning

Be Kind, Be Nice and Do Good Things...this still applies with remote instruction.
  • Make sure your child has a set daily schedule this will help with the transition period.
  • Children should daily be working on their printing.  Working on both letters and numbers.  Have  a notebook handy and available for them to practice in.  Make sure they touch top, middle and bottom line.  Practice make perfect!
  • Give your child a daily job at home and log their results. Create a graph to encourage positive behavior.
  • Incorporate the letter of the week into your day.  Find items that start with that letter especially foods... kids love a good snack!
  • Be sure to read to your child each and every day..we have been working hard on our sight words, let them see if they can find some.

              Our School Theme..
